HOUSING: CASA, INC.

Casa, Inc. is a housing facility for low-income elderly and disabled/handicapped persons, that is located in the cultural district of Fort Worth. Catholic Charities housing facilities are affordable subsidized communities.

Service Criteria:

  • Must be 62 years of age or older.
  • Must make less than the 50% Median Income: $23, 950 for an individual and $27, 350 for a family.
  • Each resident must be able to live independently.

*Please note that we are not currently accepting applications for disabled individuals under age 62 due to a change in guidance from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). Continue to check our website for changes in application requirements in the future.

Cost:

Monthly rent is based on 30% of the resident’s annual adjusted gross income as described by Department of HUD guidelines.

Additional Information:

One and two bedroom units are available, with carpeting and tile throughout, utilities (water & electric) included in rent, cable-ready, emergency pull cord system in all apartments, range and refrigerator provided, individual heating and air conditioning, 24 hour on-call maintenance, and after hours security. The facility has a social case manager on staff to help facilitate the needs of the residents.

Facility includes community center, computer lab, library, handicap parking, residential parking, professionally landscaped grounds, handicap-accessible units, laundry facilities on each floor, personal locked mailboxes and is pet friendly. Meals on Wheels are available for those eligible for services.

Casa’s community center is a designated Senior Center managed and operated through Senior Citizen Services, Inc. Senior Citizen Services provides two meals each week day for the residents and neighborhood seniors wanting to participate. Senior Citizen Services also provides educational and recreational activities during the day for the Casa Senior Center participants.

A public transportation bus stop is located outside our gate on Sondra Drive and there are many shopping opportunities within either walking distance, driving distance or on the bus routes from our facility. Catholic Charities does business in accordance with the Federal Fair Housing Laws.
