MATCH GRANT

There are over 10 million refugees in the world today and only 1% of those are resettled each year. The Refugee Match Grant program works with 325 of these men, women, and children annually to help them begin their new lives in Fort Worth, TX.

Match Grant provides a holistic approach to early economic self-sufficiency for eligible refugees, asylees, and victims of trafficking. The program incorporates a balance of employment services, case management, financial assistance, and community involvement to encourage self-sufficiency through employment and to preclude accessing public cash assistance. Clients are enrolled during the first 31 days of eligibility and services generally continue until clients reach their 180th day of eligibility. More than 80% of families are self-sufficient through employment by the end of six months.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Refugees or asylees
  • Certain Cuban and Haitian entrants
  • Certain Ameriasians from Vietnam
  • Victims of severe forms of trafficking
  • Special Immigrant Visa holders
